As we leave summer behind and head into fall, what a great time to for some new artwork! We have been busy making changes so come check out our new artists! We want to welcome Ryan Hartmann and Ashley Meier to Permanent Addictions. Watch for their portfolios coming soon. We are excited to have such great new talent!

We pride ourselves in the custom work that we do. We are not a “flash” shop, so you are going to get a one of a kind, custom piece, that is truly your own. True Art.

Each of our artists can create artwork of any style. Each also has particular styles that are their favorite! So whatever you are looking for, we would love to have you come in and work with one of our artists to create art that is special to you. It is important to us that your art has true meaning for you and we will work hard to bring that to life.

We encourage everyone to make appointments if you know the date you’d like to get tattooed. We are happy to take walk-ins, and often have an artist available to do spur of the moment tattoos, but making an appointment is the way to know we will be available. Winter is over! (maybe)

Hello everyone!

Winter is about behind us and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome our favorite seasons, spring and summer! We have been busy making changes and if you haven’t been in for a while we encourage you to come check out some of our new additions! We expanded into the building next door and now have a ton of space! The new side features walls of hand painted flash designs for you to choose from. All the flash was painted by Tim, Tyler, Heath and Lee. We encourage you to come check it out, and ask any questions. As always we welcome your designs or ideas as well!

With all this space we obviously needed to fill it, we’d like to welcome our newest artist Curtis Linton to the crew. Curtis has been tattooing in Sioux Falls for over 6 years. He enjoys many styles of tattooing and is taking appointments or walk-ins. Stop by and say hello and book some time with him! I will have his work posted soon for you all to view.

Its been a while....

Whew! The summer was busy and we saw many changes in the last few months! Cait and Lee are all settled in and doing well. We are thrilled to have them as a part of our crew! We have another new member to the family. Heath Rave started tattooing in Sioux Falls many years ago, his wanderlust years brought him to Minneapolis, Denver and Chicago. In Chicago he met the woman he’d make his wife and they had a beautiful daughter. Heath decided there is “no place like home” and we agree! You can view his work on the page now. He is a gifted and well rounded artist as well as a great machine builder. Stop in and say hello to him and take a look through his work!

Speaking of beautiful children, Tim and Tyler both welcomed new additions to their families in May, both kids are doing great and growing like weeds. Cait will be on leave starting next week for a couple months as her and Nick welcome a little bundle of joy into their family as well. We are all so excited to have these little ones become part of our families!

We expanded! The business next door moved out so we decided to take over their part of the building! The shops are connected and you are able to move freely through both. We encourage you to stop in and take a look. The new side is crushed in hand painted flash by Tim, Tyler, Heath and Dan we are really excited for you all to come take a look!

We have had a few calls recently and just wanted to let you know that we are 100% wheelchair and handicap accessible. We have client with both motorized and manual chairs that comfortably get tattooed in our shop. There is perfect parking right in front and no stairs or ramps to get into our shop.

We as always are taking appointments for the rest of the year. As you can tell we have quite the crew, which means that we are also usually available for walk-ins or last minute tattoos. Our goal has always been to be the most well rounded and talented shop in town. We know that sometimes tattoos can be sporadic at times and want to allow customers without an appointment the ability to walk in and get what they would like. We have thousands of designs for you to look through, or you can bring us a design. We are happy to meet in the middle with you and help create the tattoo you have always had in your head!

New Faces, other big news....

Hey everyone! 

As many of you know we have added two new artist to our family! Cait and Lee have long been some of our favorite local artist and we are so excited to have them as part of our crew. You can click their names above and check out their work, or even better, stop in and meet them and set up an appointment. 

We always have our books open for appointments, and part of the reason we expanded our tattoo family was to be able to accept walk-ins as much as possible. We do encourage appointments if you know what you'd like, and/or what artist you'd like to be tattooed by, but are happy to take walk-ins for the spontaneous folks. 

Keep your eyes peeled for specials in May as we ring in summer and Tim and Tyler welcome new babies to their family! They both will be talking a bit of time off but encourage you to message them for appointments. We will be having a flash Friday in May and will be encouraging diaper tips, sort of like a diaper keg,  but for tattooers!

It's springtime (kinda)

Hello everyone! It's been a while since we have updated, but we have been busy tattooing! 

First we'd like to bring the exciting news that we have welcomed our friend and wonderful artist Cait Hicks to our crew. Cait is a great artist that helps round our crew out perfectly. You can stop in, call, or email Cait to make an appointment. 

We have been very busy as of late, and there doesn't appear to be a end to that anytime soon. While we do enjoy and welcome walk-ins, an appointment will assure you have a specific time set aside from you. Part of the reason we have been expanding our crew is because we want to be able to take care of all of our clients. If you want an appointment on a specific day, we do recommend an appointment, but we encourage you to give us a call or stop in if you get a wild hair. 

Tim and Tyler have exciting news also, they both have babies due in May! Tyler and Jade will be expanding their family to 4 while Tim and Laura are welcoming their first. If you'd like in with Tim or Tyler during May, their hours may vary, but both will still be in and out of the shop while helping with the new additions. As always they have been busy tattooing and painting new flash for the shop. Most of you know that we have hundreds of hand painted designs hanging on our wall, we encourage you to come take a look anytime to see if we have a design that fits your needs, if not we are happy to draw you something, or tattoo any design you bring in! 

Nick, Jon, Ally and Erin are all staying busy with tattooing and family also, but ready to take on new clients and projects. They are also excited to see old clients come out of winter hybernation. 

We are as always thankful to have the best clients in Sioux Falls. It takes the best clients to make the best tattoo shop. Keep your ears open, we have more exciting news coming up soon! 

ST.CLOUD we are coming!

Nick, Jon, Tyler and I will all be tattooing in St. Cloud November 3rd-5th. If you have friends in the area please share this with them, we all have some available time and would love to see some familiar and new faces. Tyler and I will have our 54 page flash book with hundreds of designs available for purchase or tattooing. Our design or yours, your idea or ours.

You may have noticed we have some new photos on our page. The group photo and individual photos of us tattooing were taken by our talented friend Kayla Koterwski. You can view her work at www.thestoryteller.media we are always excited when our customers can not only show off the beautiful work we do on them, but allow us to show of their talents as well. Kayla is located in Minnapolis, Minnesota, but comes back home to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and is willing to travel for shoots. Her work is affordable, and beautiful and we encourage you to take a peek at her work. Thank you so much Kayla for spending the day with us!

Hello! 

We have been busy, and realized we had better stop by and check in with you guys. Fall is in full swing and we have been staying busy around the shop! We've had some great guest artist the past few months and look forward to bringing you plenty more in 2018, we will keep you posted on that as we finalize some dates with our talented tattooer friends from around the US. 

Nick, Tim, Tyler and Jon will be tattooing in St. Cloud November 3-5 at the Cloud-A-Scope tattoo convention. It is a wonderful venue and we look forward to meeting new people and working on some fun pieces. It will take place at the St. Cloud River's Edge Convention Center. If you are interested in getting tattooed or have friends there you'd like to send us our way let us know or have them send us an email! 

This year we have a Friday the 13th in October. We will be running a flash friday special, which means we will all be drawing pages of flash and doing discounted pricing on the flash we already have hanging on our wall. The way we do this is first come, first served. Stop in at noon and put your name on a sheet with which design you'd like and your phone number. We will call you 30 minutes in advance of when we will be able to tattoo you, that way the shop doesn't get overly crowded and you don't have to sit and wait for your turn! If you have any questions you can email us and we will answer them the best we can. Keep up with our facebook as we will be posting photos of the flash regularly on there.

August.

Been a little while since we last checked in! Just wanted to let everyone know what was going on at the shop! 

Nick, Tim and Tyler will be tattooing in Hinckley, Minnesota at the Grand Casino for the 26th annual tattoo you convention. That convention is this weekend (August 25-27) and we will be taking walk ups! Call the shop if you'd like to speak with one of us about the convention! 

Tim and Tyler will have a new 53 page book of flash they have painted over the last few years available at the convention and at the shop. The book has HUNDREDS of designs and is sure to have a design for nearly everyone. We are always happy to do one of the designs off our walls, and this way we can share with artist we know around the nation! 

Dan our apprentice has started doing small tattoos on folks he knows. Soon he will be able to do small tattoos on clients willing to let an apprentice do something on them. These pieces will be discounted and we will let you know when he is looking for customers! 

Nick is currently booking into October/November. You can get in with the other artist a bit quicker but we all book a little way out, so make sure if you want a spot and know the date that you reach out to us and set something up. We are happy to take walk-ins and usually have the availability to squeeze in small/medium pieces daily, so make sure if you get the itch to call or stop in to see if one of us can help you out! 

We recently updated some of our galleries. You can view recent works by all the artist. Keep your eyes out as we will keep updating over the next few months, we have some catching up to do from a busy summer. 

Tyler and Ally are our two newest artist and they are both settling in very well. We would appreciate it if you checked out their work and if you are interested, contact them about a tattoo! We really feel we have rounded out the shop perfectly and can now do any style of tattoo that a customer may request. We aim to be the highest quality tattoo shop in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. We also strive to have customer service and an atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable. If you have and questions or concerns please call the shop and talk with us! 

Last but not least we got some new shirts made. Our good friends at Green Dream Screen Printing here in Sioux Falls knocked this one out of the park. The design was made by our own Tyler James. We did a small run of shirts (sizes xs-xxxl) and do not plan on doing another run of this design. If you are interested in getting one stop in the shop or give us a call if you are unable to stop in. 

We are also currently looking for a receptionist. The hours would be 11-7 Friday and Saturday. This would be a paying job (as well as tattoos when time permits). Duties would include helping with everyday shop needs such as answering phones, paperwork, cleaning, helping customers and generally helping keep the shop moving smoothly. Must be 18+. Applications can be picked up at the shop.

Mid July.

We have been busy around the shop and this makes it a bit more difficult for me to update the page, but we certainly can't complain about being busy! 

We have spent the last few months putting together a crew of tattooers that can offer you the best tattoos in Sioux Falls. Recently we have a couple new additions that rounds off the crew perfectly. Tyler James will be staying with us permanently and we are excited to have him. Tyler now has his work on the page for you to view. We encourage you to check out all of our artist work as we pride ourselves on the ability to offer the highest quality work of all styles under one roof. Tyler is an extremely well rounded artist with a keen eye for detail. We have also added a Talent artist named Ally Rae. Ally spent the last few years in Sioux Falls learning the craft and recently joined our team. I will get her work up as soon as possible for you to check out. Ally is a wonderful artist that enjoys multiple different kinds of work and has some really great drawings at the shop you can check out! Please check back over the next few weeks to view some of her work! 

We are happy that our brothers/sisters of Prophecy tattoo will be back in their shop within the next week, but we are super sad to see them go. It's been really great forming new friendships and learning from one another. The shop is sure going to be different without them around, but their new shop is beautiful. We will hopefully be working on some cool projects together going forward and will make some announcements about that in the future.

Mid June.

Again we have been busy. I apologize for the lack of updates around here. 

Construction is still going on and we are still thankful to our faithful customers for navigating around it. You can now get in our lot from the 49th street entrance or the Louise entrance. If you are entering on Louise you have to use the furthest driveway east of our shop. We want to thank you all for making it through construction with us. When it is done, we are planning on doing another if it fits its $50 day. 

Late notice here but we will be having a flash Friday party at the shop this Friday. All flash painted in house will be on special. We are confident we have pieces to fit just about any budget. Tim and Tyler have painted hundreds of designs over the last few weeks and we want to tattoo them. This special will be by walk-in only, no appointments. We will be running this special from 12pm until we are done tattooing folks who want them. 

This year is our 15th anniversary as a shop and we are planning a late summer/early fall celebration. We can't wait to release more information to you as it comes. 

I will be doing a big update on the portfolio pages so keep your eyes out for some of the new stuff we have been working on.

Almost June!!!

We're going to be open Memorial Day and running a special for walk-ins! Fits for $50! If the design fits in this circle it's $50 (quarter for scale). First come first served so come by the shop on Monday to secure your deal. Have a safe weekend!

Our good friends at Prophecy Tattoo had a fire in their shop that left them without a place to work until construction on their shop is done. Luckily we had the space for them. It's been a blast having Jeremiah, Tyler and Lee doing tattoos with us. If you have been looking for any of the prophecy artist, you can call or stop in our shop, we will let you guys know when their shop is done. 

Along with the memorial day special Tim and Tyler (and whoever else has time) will be running a "flash friday" special on the 16th of June, if this goes good we will try it again on the 23rd. We want to give clients a chance to be able to walk up, choose one of the hundreds of hand painted designs we have at our shop, and get it for a fair price. This is a throwback to how tattoo shops worked in the old time, before cell phones and google. I will post a few recent photos at the end of this blog.

Construction won't give us the blues! 

We have been busy around the shop taking care of our loyal clients and new clients. Tax time always gets busy for tattoo artist, so we thank you for being patient with us and allowing us a extra week or two to book your appointment. Please forgive us if we have forgotten to get back ahold of you, and if you feel you might have been overlooked or forgotten about, please do not hesitate to get ahold of us and we will make sure you are taken care of! 

For clients who have not been to our side of town for a while, we are in the midst of some heavy road construction around our shop. If you are coming from the west on 49th, you can park in the Pier one parking lot, but please be respectful and try to take the spots closest to our parking lot. If you are coming on Louise you will use the last entrance on the east side of our strip mall and drive around to the shop. We know this is not ideal, but we are promise that we will all be happy with the results. If you are confused with how you can best get to the shop, please do give us a call! 

We are really excited to announce we will be having Chantel Cherie from The Happy Pincushion in Watertown joining us once a month. She will next be here May 20th. We have all been busy as usual and have you all to thank for it. Nick has been traveling doing some really great guestspots and visiting shops and friends of new and old. Tim, Jon, Erin and Rob are still booking parts of May and June, and Nick has his book open for the summer months. The End Of Winter (March)

Hello everyone! 

    We apologize that its been a while since you have last heard from us! We have been extremely busy around the shop, we are almost done with some of the little changes we have made around the shop and encourage you to stop by and take a look! 

     As many of you know, tax time gets very busy for us. Please be patient if we can not squeeze you in right away, we take a lot of pride in being able to help our customers rather they have an appointment or walk-in, but we are just so busy with appointments, there are certain times when we have had trouble fitting one more person in! We encourage you to make an appointment to make sure you have a time secured, however, we are usually able to fit a few walk-ins also. 

    We have T-shirts, and Tim has a bunch of paintings for sale, stop down and take a look at some of the new merch and grab a few business cards to hand out to your friends. We are lucky to hae the best customers in Sioux Falls and we we owe a great deal of our success to you guys, so thank you SO MUCH!

Its been a minute since we have update. Tax time has come and we are busy tattooing! We thank you for making Permanent Addictions one of Sioux Falls premier tattoo shops. We will continue to do our work as advertised, Clean, Bold, Bright and Always Permanent. 

If you have been in over the last few months you may have noticed a few changes. Our good friend and award winning tattooer Jon Gamache joined the shop and we are very excited to have him on board! Jon worked with Nick and Tim previously at Permanent Addictions, so it felt natural to get the old crew back together. You can check out some of Jon's work on his page above, we will be adding more to the gallery soon, so keep your eyes peeled! He also has a portfolio at the shop that you can stop and see anytime! You can inquire above if you have any questions regarding Jon and his scheduling. 

Starting Wednesday we will also have another friend and award winning artist Erin Hoogendoorn- Bennett to our shop! Erin has over 10 year experience and has a way of always doing nice work while making her customers laugh. Erin was apprenticed at the same shop as Nick and Tim were, so again, there is some history with us tattooing together before. Erin has her portfolio on her page you can find above, and will be available by appointment and taking walk-ins when available. We still have T-shirts available, they have been moving so if you are interested make sure you don't wait until they are all gone! We can send them out if you are out of state and interested. They are $20 locally and $25 shipped. 

Nick has been busy tattooing and spent a week tattooing at one of our favorite shops, Electric Dragonland in Hopkins, Minnesota. It's an honor for Nick to be able to tattoo at a world famous shop with some of the most gifted artist in the midwest. Tim is tattooing by appointment and taking walk-ins whenever available. He has painted hundreds of designs that you can stop down and check out, or would be happy to draw something custom for you. You can also visit his website at www.timjewelltattooer.com. Rob is working on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday all day and by appointment on Monday. If you are interested in his work, please contact the shop for his availability. 

Don't forget, there is not a single style that we are not interested in doing. We have a unique crew and its put together the way it is so that we can offer any style at any time. There is no design too big or too small. Color, or black and grey. Traditional or Realistic, we are here to serve Sioux Falls with the best tattoos in the region. Hello all! Just checking in to keep everyone updated on what we have going on around the shop! February marks the beginning of tax time which means we will be extremely busy. If you are planning a tattoo stop in and make an appointment as soon possible. We of course will still be taking walk-ins whenever we possibly can. 

Nick will be heading out for a week to tattoo with our good friends at Electric Dragonland in Hopkins, Minnesota. If you are in the area and interested send us a message to get set up with Nick in Minneapolis and avoid the long drive! We will also be updating our convention schedule soon, so keep an eye out for that, as you will likely be able to catch Nick and Tim out and about this year. 

We had our good friend Brogan at Green Dream Screen Printing make us some pretty killer shirts, we are really happy to have supported a local business and great friend. We have xs-xxl available at the shop for $20. American made, and high quality, we chose our shirts carefully! 

Tim started a flash special in January and had great luck with it. The deal is he will make a new sheet each month, sometimes all original, sometimes redrawn designs from tattooers of the past. This month the flash is all redrawn and repainted designs from early tattooer Amund Dietzel and for this month only you can get a discounted price on the designs. Call the shop, message the shop or stop down to set up an appointment with Tim. 

Along with the special of the month, we constantly have new original paintings and flash available for tattooing, and/or available as framed paintings for you or a loved one to cherish forever on your wall. Stop down anytime to see our one of a kind selection. We aim to keep our shop fresh with original art for you to look at and get ideas for your next tattoo from! THANK YOU ALL

   We managed to get through the hectic holiday season and we are thankful that we were not only able to spend time with our friends and family, but also had the time to stay busy around the shop! We want to keep everyone updated with what we have happening at the shop.

   We had our good friend Heath Rave from Family Tattoo in Chicago come do a guest spot with us, its always a pleasure to have a friend and amazing artist sit in with us. Heath, Nick and Tim all started within a few years of one another, and worked together for various amounts of time. It was pretty cool to get the old crew back together.    We had our good friend Heath Rave from Family Tattoo in Chicago come do a guest spot with us, its always a pleasure to have a friend and amazing artist sit in with us. Heath, Nick and Tim all started within a few years of one another, and worked together for various amounts of time. It was pretty cool to get the old crew back together. Next up we have our good friend Cody Meyer coming from Mecca Tattoo in Mankato, Minnesota. Cody is a South Dakota boy and we are stoked to have him back. This is a rare chance to get a tattoo from a tattooer who has traveled the world perfecting his craft. Tim will be doing these designs that were repainted from the collection of old-time tattooer Milton Zeis. He will be doing a page of hand painted flash each month and running a special on them, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the monthly sheet in case something you want comes up. We want to thank you all for your continued support. Don't forget to be patient with us as tax time looms, its a very busy time for tattoo shops. With that being said, if you know you are planning work in the next month or two, we really suggest trying to make and appointment if you can. We do pride ourselves on being able to take walk-ins, we also have to take care of our appointments first, and our books are filling up faster and faster the closer we get to February and March. HAPPY NEW YEAR! 

We hope you all had a very safe and happy holiday season. We have been busy at the shop making some changes. As some of you may have noticed we are no long offering salon services. We decided to move on and focus on tattooing. We thank the ladies involved with the salon for their hard work! We plan on using that space to feature guest artist from other shops in the midwest and beyond. 

We are also happy to announce we have added a new full time artist. Tim Jewell was one of the original Permanent Addictions artist before moving to another shop for some time. After some talking, we decided it would be best for Tim to rejoin the team. He will be tattooing by appointment, and also taking walk-ins. Tim enjoys traditional American tattooing, but with over 14 years experience is willing and able to do just about any style of tattooing. Stop in and meet Tim and set up an appointment today.

Nick and Andy are still tattooing full time also, you can stop in and visit with them, check out their work and make an appointment. Rob is working Thursday-Saturday currently and is accepting walk-ins or appointments, you can stop in those days to chat with Rob and get a new project started. 

Our apprentice Dan is learning more and more everyday, and he is a real sport putting up with all of us! He has currently been working on flash sheets, which will be designs he will be able to tattoo when he has reached that point in his apprenticeship.
